We’re partnering with a highly regarded independent culture, communications and brand agency to recruit a Director of Communications & Brand. This is a newly created leadership role within an ambitious and fast-growing business that works with some of the most exciting consumer, lifestyle and culture-led brands in the market. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping communications strategy, brand positioning, earned media and campaign narratives across a diverse client portfolio, while helping to elevate the agency’s strategic offering as it continues to grow.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of communications, brand strategy, culture and creativity. You’ll act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, helping them understand how they show up in culture, what they stand for and how to build meaningful connections with audiences through powerful storytelling and communications strategies. Working closely with creative, social, influencer, partnerships and client services teams, you’ll ensure campaigns are strategically robust, culturally relevant and commercially impactful. Key Responsibilities

  • Communications & Brand Strategy
    • Lead the development of integrated communications and brand strategies.
    • Advise clients on brand positioning, messaging, reputation and audience engagement.
    • Translate business objectives into compelling communications plans and campaign narratives.
    • Bring cultural insight, audience understanding and media awareness into strategic recommendations.
    • Ensure communications activity drives meaningful business outcomes.
  • Brand Positioning & Narrative Development
    • Develop clear and distinctive brand stories, campaign platforms and messaging frameworks.
    • Ensure campaigns are rooted in genuine audience insight and cultural relevance.
    • Maintain exceptional standards of strategic thinking across client work.
    • Help clients create long-term brand value and relevance.
  • PR, Earned Media & Reputation
    • Lead earned media strategy across key client accounts.
    • Identify compelling stories, media opportunities and cultural moments.
    • Provide senior counsel on reputation management and stakeholder communications.
    • Support clients through high-profile and potentially sensitive communications challenges.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Coach, mentor and develop communications and PR talent.
    • Create a high-performance culture built on collaboration, curiosity and excellence.
    • Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing professional development.
    • Drive best practice across communications and brand disciplines.
    • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
    • Support business development activity, pitches and proposals.
    • Identify opportunities to grow existing client partnerships.
    • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure exceptional service delivery and commercial success.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced communications professional with strong strategic credentials and a genuine passion for culture, brands and storytelling. You will likely have:

  • 10+ years’ experience within communications, PR, brand strategy or integrated agencies.
  • A proven track record advising senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing communications strategies for consumer-facing, lifestyle or culture-led brands.
  • Strong knowledge of earned media, reputation management, brand positioning and campaign planning.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence operating at senior leadership level.
  • The ability to challenge constructively and inspire those around you.

Experience across hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, beauty, fashion, retail or consumer brands would be highly advantageous.
