We are seeking a qualified and patient focused Dental Therapist to join our friendly and supportive dental team. The ideal candidate will be confident in providing a range of preventive and restorative dental treatments, working independently within their scope of practice while contributing to high standards of patient care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong rapport with patients of all ages. You will work collaboratively with dentists, dental nurses, and other team members to deliver a positive patient experience and promote good oral health.

Key Duties

  • Perform a wide range of treatments including fillings, scaling, polishing, and oral health education.
  • Carry out dental examinations under a dentist's prescription and diagnose dental conditions within your scope.
  • Provide preventive and restorative dental care for children and adults, including the extraction of deciduous teeth.
  • Support patients in developing positive dental hygiene habits through education and motivational techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with GDC and NHS (if applicable) guidelines.
  • Contribute to the overall smooth running of the practice and uphold CQC and infection control standards.
  • Liaise with dentists and other dental professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • GDC registration as a Dental Therapist (essential)
  • Performer Number (preferred if working in an NHS or mixed setting)
  • Previous experience in a clinical dental setting (preferred but not essential for newly qualified applicants)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high clinical standards
  • Up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
