HR Recruit is supporting a growing and ambitious SME seeking an experienced HR professional. Reporting into the MD, the role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the organisations people function at a pivotal stage of growth. This role combines long-term strategic planning with hands-on leadership across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to leaders and managers, building management capability and strengthening leadership effectiveness throughout the business.
  • Drive learning and development initiatives that build organisational capability and prepare the business for future challenges.
  • Review and improve HR processes, systems, and reporting to ensure effective people management and operational efficiency.
  • Create and drive a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with organisational priorities and future business ambitions.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to support workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, and the development of structures that can support continued growth.
  • Champion a positive and high-performing culture by embedding company values and encouraging accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and employee wellbeing.
  • Provide leadership support to the Health & Safety function, promoting a culture focused on risk prevention, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced HR professional who can operate both strategically and operationally, with the confidence to influence at senior leadership level. You will bring:

  • A strong track record in a senior HR leadership position.
  • Strong commercial understanding and the ability to connect people initiatives with wider business goals.
  • Ability to manage a small team and work both strategically and operationally.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites where required.
  • Exposure to Health & Safety leadership or close partnership working with H&S teams.
