Our client is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a growing wholesale business and lead its finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is the most senior finance role in the organisation, offering full ownership of financial operations, commercial finance, cashflow management, compliance, controls, and finance team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close and preparation of management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting
- Own cashflow forecasting, working capital management and financial controls
- Deliver margin analysis, KPI reporting and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making
- Partner with senior leadership on pricing, profitability and business growth initiatives
- Manage VAT, PAYE, payroll, pension compliance and HMRC relationships
- Oversee lender reporting and invoice finance facilities
- Build, lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
- Drive process improvements, automation and a strong control environment across the finance function
Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous Financial Controller experience within an SME environment
- Strong commercial finance, reporting and cashflow management experience
- Experience managing compliance, financial controls and stakeholder relationships
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on role and reporting directly to a CEO
