Do you believe every child and young person deserves to be listened to?
We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Children's & Young Person's Advocate to join our Advocacy Team at Empowerment. This is an opportunity to support children and young people to have their voices heard and ensure their views are at the centre of decisions that affect their lives.
As an advocate, you'll work with children and young people in care, care leavers, those involved in child protection processes, and young people accessing health and social care services. You'll help them understand their rights, build their confidence, and make sure their wishes and feelings are represented.
What we're looking for
You’ll be someone who:
- Has experience working directly with children and young people.
- Is passionate about children's rights and making a difference.
- Can build trusting relationships and communicate effectively with young people from a range of backgrounds.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and advocacy.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Shares our values of kindness, respect, equality, and inclusion.
At Empowerment, we're committed to helping people find their voice and be heard. You'll join a supportive, experienced team providing independent advocacy services across Blackpool, helping some of the most vulnerable children and young people get the support they need.
We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. If you're enthusiastic about the role but don't meet every single requirement, we'd still love to hear from you.
Please note: This role requires an enhanced DBS check and access to a vehicle for travelling to meetings and appointments.
Make a real difference.
Closing date for this role will be Thursday 16th October 2026.
Got questions or want to learn more about the role?
Please contact us on 0300 32 32 100 (Option 1), or email makeareferral@empowermentcharity.org.uk to have a chat with a member of the team.
