Procurement & Logistics Officer

RecruitNow is delighted to be assisting a publicly listed international gold mining company, with the recruitment of a Procurement & Logistics Officer based in Jersey, for a start in early 2027.

The Company operates mining projects in Nicaragua and across South America. The company’s is Jersey office serves as the hub for procurement, logistics and administrative support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international organisation and play a key role in supporting procurement and supply chain activities across multiple jurisdictions.

You will work closely with overseas operational teams, suppliers and contractors to help ensure the efficient sourcing, movement and delivery of goods and services required by the company’s mining operations.

As you will have regular communication with stakeholders across Latin America, fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.

Key features of the role include:

• Sourcing goods and services for the company’s international operations
• Obtaining quotations and carrying out supplier comparisons to achieve best value
• Securing accurate procurement agreements
• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers
• Coordinating international transportation, freight and shipping arrangements
• Liaising with freight forwarders, customs agents and transportation providers
• Monitoring shipments and ensuring that shipping and customs documentation is accurate
• Supporting inventory management and stock control processes and management reports
• Maintaining appropriate procurement and supplier records for audit and reporting purposes

The ideal candidate will have:

• Entitled or Entitled for Work status in Jersey
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain or operations within a relevant international market
• Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement processes with significant budgets
• Strong organisational, administrative and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• The ability to build effective working relationships across different countries and cultures
• Flexibility to participate in occasional meetings outside standard working hours due to international time zones

Experience within the mining, engineering, natural resources or industrial sectors would be advantageous, as would knowledge of international shipping and customs procedures, experience supporting operations across Latin America, or experience using procurement or ERP systems.

Selection process:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview, and Spanish proficiency will be tested within the selection process
