Our client, a leading organisation within the UK manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused HR Business Partner to support their operational sites. This is an excellent opportunity to influence strategic people decisions, partner closely with managers, and help shape organisational culture within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an HR Business Partner, you will work as a trusted advisor to operational and site leaders, ensuring people strategies support both immediate business needs and long-term priorities.
- Strategic Partnership & Leadership Support
- Partner with managers to drive people strategy aligned with operational objectives.
- Coach leaders on decision-making, workforce planning, and effective people management.
- Strengthen leadership capability and promote continuous improvement.
- Talent, Development & Culture
- Collaborate with L&D teams to implement development programmes that build internal capability.
- Work with Talent Acquisition to deliver recruitment plans and support hiring managers.
- Champion engagement, inclusion, and a positive employee experience.
- Employee Relations & HR Excellence
- Work with ER specialists on complex cases, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance.
- Liaise with Occupational Health on absence, capability, and wellbeing matters.
- Review and improve HR policies, processes, and practices.
- Data, Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Use people metrics and trends to inform decision-making and shape future HR strategy.
- Lead or contribute to HR improvement and change projects.
- Support communication and embedding of organisational values.
What Our Client is Looking For
Ideal candidates will bring strong HR capability, commercial awareness, and experience within manufacturing or operational environments.
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, production, supply chain, or other 24/7 operational environments.
- Strong experience coaching and supporting managers.
- Proven background managing complex ER cases.
- Experience contributing to or leading HR/people change initiatives.
- Comfortable working with Centres of Excellence or within matrix structures.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse complex issues and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders.
- Positive, solutions-focused, and adaptable to change.
- Proficient in MS Office; HRIS experience advantageous (Oracle HCM beneficial).
Qualifications
- CIPD Level 7 (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Strong general education with excellent literacy and numeracy.
Additional Details
- Local travel between operational sites is required — a full driving licence is preferred.
- Occasional irregular hours may be needed due to 24/7 operations.
- Some work may require entering clean-room environments.
