We're seeking an experienced Onboarding & Compliance Manager to lead a high-performing onboarding and compliance function responsible for ensuring clinicians are onboarded efficiently, compliantly and to the highest professional standards.
This is a pivotal leadership role within a growing organisation, combining operational management, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement and team leadership.
Reporting to the Head of Workforce Operations, you will take ownership of the end-to-end onboarding and compliance process for a large contingent clinician workforce, ensuring a high-quality, audit-ready service that supports organisational growth and service delivery.
The Opportunity
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on leadership role where you'll be expected to balance strategic improvement with day‑to‑day operational delivery.
You’ll lead the onboarding and compliance function through a Team Leader, maintaining oversight of team performance, workload management and service delivery while remaining closely involved in operational decision‑making, problem solving and driving performance.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a high‑volume, constantly evolving environment.
You’ll bring the resilience, energy and commercial awareness needed to manage competing priorities, respond to changing workforce demands and maintain high standards during periods of growth.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit above the detail.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
- Lead the day‑to‑day onboarding and compliance function.
- Manage onboarding pipelines, service levels, volumes and performance metrics.
- Ensure onboarding activity is delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with workforce planning and operational stakeholders to understand workforce demand and priorities.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks and capacity challenges, implementing solutions proactively.
- Provide clear reporting and updates on performance, risks and actions.
- Ensure operational resilience and continuity during periods of increased demand.
- Compliance & Governance
- Oversee robust onboarding and compliance processes within a regulated environment.
- Ensure adherence to safer recruitment principles, legislation and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records, compliance documentation and audit trails.
- Lead audit activity, ensuring actions are implemented and embedded.
- Support ongoing inspection and regulatory readiness.
- Manage compliance risks, escalations and governance processes.
- Monitor ongoing workforce compliance requirements and renewals.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive ongoing improvements across onboarding and compliance processes.
- Analyse data, KPIs, audit outcomes and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Improve efficiency, quality and user experience while maintaining compliance standards.
- Support the implementation of systems, workflow enhancements and process change.
- Develop scalable processes capable of supporting continued organisational growth.

- Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the onboarding and compliance function through a Team Leader.
- Set clear expectations, accountability measures and performance standards.
- Maintain oversight of workload planning, prioritisation and service delivery.

- Build capability across the team through coaching and development.
- Address performance issues proactively and constructively.

About You

- Experience managing teams, ideally through Team Leaders or layered management structures.
