About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Keeper within the Local Authority.
This role involves ensuring the daily maintenance and upkeep of Folkestone's prime parks and open spaces, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the public.
The ideal candidate will have a full clean driving licence and some experience in grounds maintenance tasks such as hedge trimming, mowing, and litter picking.
You must be reliable, flexible, a standard DBS check will be carried out.
Previous employment & character references must be supplied on request.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Drive company vehicles as required.
- Engage with the public in a professional and calm manner.
- Litter picking, waste management, and safe disposal.
- Maintain public toilets in the Coastal Park and East Cliff.
- Grounds maintenance - weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, strimming, and planting.
- Coastal Park play area upkeep - raking sand.
- Assist in the setup and take-down of special events.
- Help maintain the park's infrastructure, such as playgrounds, benches, and pathways.
- Monitor the park for safety issues and report concerns.
- Installation and removal of football nets, changing rooms upkeep, unlocking and locking sport pavilions.
- To be fully flexible to work wherever required within the scope of the section.
- To ensure vehicles and plant are regularly checked, maintained and used correctly reporting any defects to the team leader or workshop.
