Overview:
We\’re looking for a skilled Senior Structural Design Technician to produce high-quality 3D models and technical drawings, manage design projects, and support stakeholders. You\’ll play a key role in ensuring design accuracy, project coordination, and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills in structural design, particularly in Tekla Structures, and a solid background in hot or cold rolled steel structures. You\’ll be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models and technical drawings, managing design projects, and supporting internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings to industry standards
* Manage personal workload and meet project deadlines
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors
* Maintain accurate project documentation and records
* Mentor junior staff and support quality assurance
* Contribute to continuous improvement and design variation processes
* Proficiency in Tekla Structures (required)
* Experience in hot or cold rolled steel structure design (required)
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and structural systems
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Diploma or HNC in a construction-related discipline
* Previous experience in a structural design role within construction or engineering
Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or design meetings
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
