Salary: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour + Overtime rate | 40 hrs/week | Temp-to-Perm
Shifts: Starting on the Early shift while training - Monday to Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM, then moving to the Late shift 1:00PM - 10:00PM, Shift premium paid from 4:00PM.
We're recruiting a Powder Coater / Paint Line Operative to join a busy powder coating department. This is a hands-on role supporting the paint line to hit production targets while maintaining excellent quality and safe working practices.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing parts for powder coating (cleaning/de-greasing, masking/plugging as required)
- Hanging/racking parts onto jigs and loading/unloading the conveyor line
- Supporting powder coating processes (booth housekeeping and powder handling once trained)
- Monitoring line flow and curing ovens, reporting any issues or defects
- Carrying out visual quality checks (coverage, finish, colour, contamination) and recording results
- Packing/labelling finished components to job card/customer requirements
- Keeping the work area clean and following all site H&S procedures
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment (powder coating/paint line experience is a strong advantage)
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with manual handling and standing/walking for long periods
- Basic literacy/numeracy for paperwork, labels and checks
Desirable:
- Powder coating line experience (hanging, masking, prep, inspection)
- FLT licence (Counterbalance/Reach)
