PLANT OPERATIVE – WASTE MANAGEMENT
SHIFTS: DAYS & NIGHT – 12 hour shifts – 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am
Start Date: ASAP
HRGO Recruitment is seeking Plant Operatives for a busy Waste Plant in Tilbury, Essex RM18.
Your responsibilities include monitoring plant processing, sorting machines, and screens to ensure cleanliness and maximum efficiency. You will respond to machine issues, plant bottlenecks, or blockages, and react to alarms by rectifying or reporting them. The role may require stepping up to cover senior plant operators and other roles.
Shifts:
- 12-hour shifts: 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am (Days/Nights), weekly rota
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain clear landings, walkways, and stairs, ensuring safe access and effective checks on plant machinery.
- Keep all areas and equipment clean; report or resolve spillages promptly.
- Complete shift paperwork accurately to ensure proper handovers and communication between shifts.
- Address or report issues promptly.
- Operate the company\’s FLT if trained.
- Keep machines dust-free.
- Relieve other plant operatives during breaks and holidays.
- Monitor waste streams and address adverse variations quickly.
- Assist Maintenance during downtimes, following safety protocols.
Note: This role can be dusty; PPE masks are required in this area.
