Location: Northampton- plus 50 mile radius Type: Full-time, field-based (travel & occasional overnight stays) Reports to: Installation Director The Role of the Technical Surveyor We're looking for an experienced Technical Surveyor to take contracts from sales concept through to installation start, ensuring every project is surveyed accurately, specified correctly, and handed over seamlessly to site teams. You'll be customer-facing, technically strong, and confident producing basic AutoCAD drawings to support planning and working drawings. Key Responsibilities of the Technical Surveyor Take contracts from Sales concept through to installation start, liaising with the Customer Account Manager and internal teams. Review each contract pre-survey to ensure contractual obligations are fully understood and achievable. Carry out detailed site surveys: confirm dimensions, ground conditions, design workability, access/egress, and resolve inconsistencies with the customer and/or Sales Designer. Meet customers on site to confirm the specification and design align with their understanding and company design standards. Prepare VoC's (Variations of Contract) for customer sign-off where changes are identified, and ensure appraisal requirements are sent to Accounts for action. Produce basic AutoCAD drawings for colleagues to support planning applications and working drawings. Return to customers to obtain signed working drawings and VoC documentation. Attend site on the first day of fit to introduce the fitting team to the customer and complete a thorough handover. Prepare survey documentation for HSE / CDM 2015 requirements. Maintain accurate records, update the company database, and provide weekly reporting/working drawings as required. Provide technical and pricing support to Sales Designers and build strong cross-department relationships. Skills & Experience (Essential) Chartered Surveyor, architectural or equivalent qualification or strong proven industry experience. Strong AutoCAD skills and ability to interpret technical drawings. Experience in joinery, construction, conservatory (or similar installation-led) industries. Solid product/technical knowledge and awareness of Local Authority permissions. Excellent communication skills with confidence and credibility when engaging customers. Highly organised, efficient, and able to manage multiple jobs concurrently. Flexible approach to working hours, travel, and overnight stays when required.
