Here's what you'll be doing:
- Health & Safety Compliance: Operate within Health & Safety requirements and all relevant company procedures.
- Daily Maintenance Tasks: Carry out daily maintenance tasks as set out by the Maintenance Manager, including regular greasing, inspection, and repair of all processing equipment.
- Record Keeping: Update maintenance records.
- Breakdown Assistance: Assist with breakdowns, repairs, or general projects as required by the Maintenance Manager.
- Training Needs Identification: Identify your own maintenance training needs through observation and discussion, and inform the Mill Manager accordingly.
- Task Delegation: Perform any other tasks as may be delegated from time to time by the Maintenance Manager or Mill Manager.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain all company tools and maintenance equipment in clean working order and ensure they are returned and secured in the appropriate store after use.
- Inventory Management: Create an effective inventory system to ensure adequate 'spares' cover on essential equipment.
- Tool & Equipment Requests: Notify the Maintenance Manager where new tools or maintenance equipment are required to carry out the job in hand.
- Scope of Authority: Sign on behalf of the company for supplier deliveries.
- Performance Criteria: Maintenance of protective clothing and general appearance. Maintain work office, tool/spare parts store, work benches, and all records in a tidy, orderly fashion at all times. Accurate, immediate, and legible completion of all documentation. Minimise machinery/equipment failure through neglect. Conformance to company procedures. Maintain a positive attitude and relationship with customers and colleagues. Punctuality and effective use of company time. Maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Physical Requirements: Basic computer literacy. Basic clerical and administrative skills. Experience in electrical and/or mechanical, predominantly mechanical. Fitness to carry out the job (Health Record). Appropriate driving license for company vehicles (company to be notified of any convictions or warnings).
Benefits: £35k-£38k, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, on call get paid min 3.5 hours, even if on site for 1 hour, plus in later next day if called out. Pension, free parking, 22 days annual leave, 8 Bank Holiday days and once out of 6 month probation you get your birthday day off paid. They also have a scheme called Westfield Health (although this may change in the future) which pays up to £60 towards Doctors and £60 towards Dentists etc per year, on call Doctor line and some other things like that.
