Mechanical Inspector (CMM Programmer) – Precision Engineering, Permanent

Working within a modern, quality-focused environment, you will play a key role in ensuring our machined components meet exacting customer standards. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced inspector or someone to train further into the role and develop their career in this expanding subsidiary of a global engineering business. (must have at least some mechanical inspection experience for the trainee role)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed mechanical inspections in line with established quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Programme and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS to deliver efficient, accurate inspection results (specific software training can be given).
  • Carry out general manual inspection using a range of standard measuring equipment.
  • Identify, document and report non-conformances, working closely with production to resolve issues.
  • Prepare, maintain and interpret inspection reports, logs and records.
  • Ensure all inspection and measuring equipment is correctly calibrated, maintained and used safely.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in a mechanical inspection role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of machining processes and practical \”hands‑on\” approach.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
