Overview
A Mechanical Design Engineer is required for process machinery design. Salary: Up to £50,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a permanent, office-based position at the client site in the Huntingdon - St. Neots - Sandy area. Own transport is required due to location.
Established leader in processing and packaging machinery is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly skilled design team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D and 2D designs for specialised, automated machinery using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Strong engineering mechanical machinery design background.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively and meet deadlines.
- Direct interaction with suppliers to obtain pricing and delivery schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on shop floor experience in machining, welding, fabrication, etc.
- Experience in designing food machinery and systems.
- Knowledge in the following areas:
- Steam systems and energy calculations
- Fluid systems, pumps, and piping
- Pneumatics
- Stress calculations
- Motor/gearbox sizing for applications
- Sheet metal development
- Machined part tolerances
Working Hours
8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday). Overtime may be available.
Location
Huntingdon - St. Neots - Sandy area. Own transport required due to location. Commutable from Huntingdon, Cambridge, Sandy, St. Neots, Bedford, Biggleswade, Letchworth Garden City, Royston, Cambourne, Saffron Walden, Stevenage, Bishop's Stortford, Peterborough.
