Our client is initially seeking a flexible, multi-tasking Site Maintenance Assistant on a temporary basis.
The role starts in mid-March and is a temporary cover for a six-week period, based in Central Bishops Stortford.
Candidates would need to have an Enhanced DBS (or be prepared to undergo the process).
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities would include on-site school Caretaker type responsibilities, general handy-person duties, such as moving goods and furniture, painting, minor repairs to property, fixtures, and assisting with grounds maintenance and landscaping (e.g., weeding, watering) in a timely and safe manner. General good housekeeping, tidying, clearing litter, sweeping, etc. would also be required.
Additionally, the successful candidate would be responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, including the operation of fire alarms, locking buildings, checking and securing windows and internal doors, and clearing daily compacting daily waste litter bins, etc. Communicating regularly with on-site colleagues on the progress of work tasks would also be necessary.
The candidate would also be available for on-site issues, such as replacing light bulbs, monitoring alarm systems, unclogging toilets, and emptying bins. Carrying out the day-to-day maintenance of the site, ensuring the security and quality of the site at all times, would be a key part of the role.
