General Manual machinists opportunity in this busy expanding aviation repair workshop. You will use a range of machinery including lathes, mills, jig borers and grinders to perform repairs to customer equipment in accordance with their order requirements and the approved technical data. This is a hands-on role for a detail-focused individual who takes pride in producing high-quality, accurate work.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate lathes, mills, jig borers, grinders and other machine tools to carry out repairs and manufacturing tasks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and approved technical data to meet order requirements
- Measure and inspect components using verniers, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
- Complete machining, finishing and repair operations to required tolerances and surface finishes
- Maintain accurate job records, test reports and documentation as required by the order
- Carry out routine maintenance and safe operation checks on machinery and tooling
- Identify and report issues, suggest improvements and collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical problems
- Comply with health, safety and quality procedures and contribute to a clean, organised workshop environment
This is a permanent job with a starting salary dependant on experience. You must have current UK right to work to be considered.
