Position: Packing Line Operative
Type: Full-Time
Main Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Packing Line Operative to run our packing line as smoothly and efficiently as possible while strictly adhering to Compliance and Health & Safety Rules.
Main Duties and Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform all start up checks for the packing line to ensure proper operation.
- Liaise with ODS, Chiller, and Machine Operators regarding job priorities and provide updates on any changes.
- Prepare and set up the packing line efficiently.
- Collect packaging and labels from the packaging store and ensure quality checks (QC) are completed before starting.
- Verify that the fruit in the wet area matches the correct variety, grower, and job number.
- Train packers and ensure adherence to hygiene standards; provide necessary instructions to staff regarding upcoming jobs.
- Complete all paperwork timely and accurately.
- Continuously monitor the minus sheet for updates.
- Order additional fruit and packaging in a timely manner and ensure QC checks before use.
- Ensure QC checks all extra poly bags and flow wrap samples prior to production.
- Remove packaging from the line and return it to the packaging department at the end of each job, ensuring cleanliness.
- Update job status on the minus sheet following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Report to the Pack house Manager upon completion of all orders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Complete all orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all paperwork is legible and fully completed.
- Return all unused packaging to the print room.
- Maintain compliance with Hygiene rules consistently.
- Follow Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- Conduct audit reports for your area.
- Produce daily profit and loss, downtime, external and internal rejection, overtime, and ETI reports.

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong initiative and proactive approach to tasks.
- Flexible approach to various responsibilities.
Skills/Capabilities and Experience Required:
- Strong level of English.
- Good understanding of Maths.
