In-House Legal Specialist Opportunity with a leading organisation. We are looking for an experienced In-House Legal Specialist to join a well-established, privately owned business. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in consumer law and work directly with the board of directors and management team, providing legal guidance across a wide range of business matters.
As part of a dynamic, successful and rapidly growing organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant consumer and financial laws, including FCA regulations, and managing consumer legal challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal counsel to the management team on all aspects of consumer law.
- Handle and manage litigation claims, from initiation through to resolution, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Negotiate with lenders, external parties, and regulatory bodies to resolve consumer issues, ensuring compliance with FCA regulations.
- Coordinate responses to complaints and disputes, particularly in relation to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
- Offer legal insights and proactive solutions to customer queries, escalating issues as necessary.
- Conduct training for the team to enhance legal knowledge and compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with external legal service providers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
- Update and maintain legal databases to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Qualified solicitor or paralegal with at least 2 years of experience in consumer law.
- Proven experience managing customer disputes, litigation, and understanding of FCA regulations and FOS processes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical advice.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal database management.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
