Newly created Engineering NPI Manager's role to lead New Product Introduction programmes from quotation through to full production release for this expanding sub-contract aerospace precision engineering company. This is a growth position focused on delivering robust, on-time, right-first-time part production for their range of CNC Machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead NPI projects end-to-end: quotation support, planning, industrialisation, validation and production release.
- Act as the main customer-facing technical contact throughout the NPI lifecycle.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Supply Chain.
- Review customer drawings/specifications and translate requirements into manufacturing methods and production documentation.
- Provide technical input into quotations (manufacturing approach, cost drivers, methods, and estimates).
- Support capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure delivery against plan.
- Liaise with suppliers/subcontractors to ensure materials and treatments/special processes meet requirements.
- Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, quality and supply-chain risks.
Essential Requirements
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven NPI / industrialisation leadership in CNC precision manufacturing (aerospace/high-integrity desirable).
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications for manufacture.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing suppliers/subcontractors and external processes/treatments.
Desirable (Preferred)
- AS9100/EN9100 awareness and First Article / FAIR-style experience.
- Knowledge of FMEA, control plans, APQP/PPAP-type tools.
- Project management qualification (PRINCE2/PMP) or equivalent experience.
