An interesting opportunity for a mechanical inspector / CMM programmer to join a small, growing precision engineering and tooling business.
Key responsibilities:
- Fulfil the inspection function across the business.
- Program and operate the CMM using MCosmos.
- Define and enforce inspection procedures, sampling plans and acceptance criteria for incoming materials, in-process production and final products.
- Oversee all metrology equipment (CMM, gauges, micrometers, calipers) and ensure calibration and traceability of measurement systems.
- Perform first article inspections.
- Work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to help resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives and auditing.
Person specification / skills and experience:
- Proven experience in an inspection role within precision engineering, toolmaking, machining or a related manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional control, GD&T, metrology best practice and inspection methods.
- Proficient with measurement equipment including CMMs (ideally MCosmos software).
- IT literate with experience with inspection reporting and MS Office.
This is a permanent job with a starting salary dependent on experience. You must have current UK right to work to be considered.
