Construction Insulation - Core Insulation Roles KA11 N. Ayrshire
Location: Various industrial and construction sites, housing developments including major industrial facilities such as large-scale commercial projects (e.g. KA11 area and surrounding regions).
Contract Type: 58 hours working week Monday to Friday 10 hours, with 8 hours Saturday. Possible long-term or ongoing work depending on project requirements.
Role Overview: We are recruiting experienced Construction Insulation Operatives to work across industrial, commercial, and domestic environments. These roles involve the installation, protection, and maintenance of thermal insulation systems to improve energy efficiency, protect equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and building standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install thermal insulation to pipes, ductwork, boilers, vessels, and plant equipment.
- Insulate heating systems to retain heat and refrigeration/air conditioning systems to prevent heat gain.
- Measure, cut, fit, and finish insulation materials to specifications.
- Fit insulation materials such as loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and board systems.
- Work in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Ensure installations meet drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
- Carry out high-level and complex insulation work in heavy industrial environments.
- Work on live sites such as domestic new house build developments to waste-to-energy plants, refineries, and power stations.
- Follow strict site safety, permit, and access procedures.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply fully with site health and safety procedures.
- Use PPE correctly at all times.
- Work safely at height when required (scaffolding, MEWPs).
- Follow method statements and risk assessments.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in industrial lagging, thermal insulation, or sheet metal cladding.
- Experience working in large industrial or energy sites is preferred.
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, and fitting insulation materials.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- CSCS Card (mandatory) Blue & Gold card holders only.
- Additional certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or Confined Spaces are advantageous.
