Role Overview
HRGO Recruitment Ashford is seeking an experienced and proactive Junior Transport and Fleet Planner to join a busy and growing logistics business. This is a hands-on role requiring daily coordination with drivers, customers, and the wider transport team to ensure collections and deliveries run smoothly across the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-driven, and confident in managing both planning and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport operations alongside the planning team using Excel.
- Communicate with drivers to provide accurate collection and delivery details.
- Monitor all vehicle movements, driver activity, and shipment progress throughout the day.
- Keep customers fully informed on job statuses, changes, and delivery confirmations.
- Reconcile transport orders and ensure all systems and databases are kept fully up to date.
- Check and file driver paperwork, timesheets, GPS data, and working time records.
- Enter customer orders into the internal invoicing system.
- Prepare weekly cost sheets for regular billed customers.
- Update customer portals and the company fleet management system.
- Support the Transport Planning Team with day-to-day operations.
- Respond promptly to phone calls and emails, maintaining excellent customer service.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the General Manager.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking ability with high attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a must.
- Confident telephone manner and customer service approach.
