The Role
We are looking for a proactive and driven Assistant Production Manager to support the Production Manager in leading a busy manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor, Shift Manager or Team Leader who is looking to take the next step in their career.
You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while motivating and developing production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day management of the production department.
Assist with planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer demand.
Lead, coach and motivate production supervisors and operatives.
Monitor productivity, efficiency and waste, implementing improvements where required.
Ensure all Health & Safety, Quality, GMP and environmental procedures are followed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Monitor KPIs including productivity, downtime, waste, quality and labour efficiency.
Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Planning and Warehouse departments.
Support recruitment, training, performance management and employee development.
Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained across the production area.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in a Production Supervisor, Shift Manager or Assistant Production Manager position.
Manufacturing experience within packaging, food, FMCG, print or a fast-paced production environment.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
