We are seeking skilled and reliable HGV Drivers to join our Seasonal Coastal Team for the summer season. This role involves operating HGV vehicles, leading a small team, and ensuring Thanet\’s promenades & beaches remain clean and welcoming.
Shift time start @ 13:00 – 20:00, weekends, bank holidays & school holidays up until 6th July, then 4 days on/4 days off until September
- Drive HGV vehicles and other required vehicles
- Act as Team Leader, overseeing the work of team members
- Empty bins, collect sacks, bulky items, and other waste
- Perform routine maintenance checks and complete vehicle defect reports
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and in good working condition
- Operate vehicles in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and legal requirements
- Load and transport waste to transfer stations or designated sites
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
- Valid CPC licence
- Knowledge of the Thanet area (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of highway safety and working time regulations
- Willingness to complete a theory test on Domestic & EU Working Time Directive and Highway Code knowledge & a PASS mark is essential.
