We are currently recruiting for an Electronics Assembly Technician to join a leading global manufacturer of vibration testing systems, signal analysers, and sound generators. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and friendly company specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke high-performance electronic systems for customers worldwide. This is not repetitive production line work. The successful candidate will be responsible for building complex systems from start to finish, working on a diverse range of sophisticated equipment including Electro-Dynamic Shaker systems, Underwater Sonar systems, and high-power amplifiers ranging from 30W to 55kW.

The ideal candidate will be technically skilled, highly organised, and proactive, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently to high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete wiring and assembly of electronic instruments and high-power amplifier systems
  • Hand-build specialised vibration testing systems and underwater sonar equipment to precise specifications
  • Work with three-phase power equipment and ensure careful handling of low-level analogue signals
  • Carry out basic PCB building and component loading
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to build full systems from the ground up
  • Perform system integration and final assembly for global customer delivery
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring all work complies with internal quality procedures and safety regulations
  • Manage workload effectively and maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace

What We're Looking For:

  • Time-served apprenticeship with a City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in an electrical or electronic discipline
  • Proven experience in prototype wiring, electronic assembly, or similar technical build roles
  • Strong knowledge of high-power electrical systems and three-phase power (essential)
  • Experience handling delicate low-level analogue signals and complex circuitry
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to work
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, forward-thinking attitude with a hands-on 'can-do' mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a skilled team

Working Pattern:

  • 39-hour working week
