This is a hands-on role for a Multi-Skilled Engineer who enjoys getting stuck in, working with modern machinery and being the go-to person when the line needs a hero.
Key responsibilities:
- Keep high-speed processing and packaging lines running through PPM, fault-finding and reactive repairs.
- Track down and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on automated equipment.
- Strip, rebuild and re-align mechanical components; change bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and ancillaries.
- Carry out electrical troubleshooting, wiring, motor and control component replacement and testing.
- Get involved in improvement projects, upgrades and new equipment installs.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and champion health & safety on shift.
- Work closely with production and engineering to smash downtime targets and boost reliability.
Essential skills & qualifications:
- Strong experience in an automated FMCG environment.
- Hands-on experience with processing and packaging machinery.
- Mechanical qualification: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Electrical qualification: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Confident mechanical and electrical fault-finding on automated plant.
- Great communicator and team player who can stay calm under pressure.
- Flexible approach to shifts if required.
Desirable:
- Experience with PLCs, drives and basic control systems.
- Experience installing and commissioning new equipment.
