Here at HRGO, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller for a growing manufacturing and construction company, based in their head office, on the Wirral. The team are looking for someone who can lead the finance function day-to-day, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide commercial insight to support operational decision making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely outputs
  • Producing and improving management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis
  • Supporting operational teams with cost control, margin analysis and decision support
  • Overseeing job costing, WIP and manufacturing/construction cost reporting
  • Managing cashflow forecasting and treasury activities
  • Maintaining robust compliance, processes and internal controls
  • Driving finance process improvements and supporting ERP/finance system projects
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller / Finance Manager or similar)
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting capability
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data and analysis
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a commercial mindset
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Background in manufacturing and/or construction preferred
  • Exposure to ERP implementation or major finance systems change is beneficial
  • Experience in an SME/owner-managed environment advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing business
