Here at HRGO, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller for a growing manufacturing and construction company, based in their head office, on the Wirral. The team are looking for someone who can lead the finance function day-to-day, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide commercial insight to support operational decision making.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely outputs
- Producing and improving management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis
- Supporting operational teams with cost control, margin analysis and decision support
- Overseeing job costing, WIP and manufacturing/construction cost reporting
- Managing cashflow forecasting and treasury activities
- Maintaining robust compliance, processes and internal controls
- Driving finance process improvements and supporting ERP/finance system projects
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller / Finance Manager or similar)
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting capability
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data and analysis
- Practical, hands-on approach with a commercial mindset
- CIMA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Background in manufacturing and/or construction preferred
- Exposure to ERP implementation or major finance systems change is beneficial
- Experience in an SME/owner-managed environment advantageous
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing business
