HRGO Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Factory Operative to join our clients exceptionally large sand-casting foundry based in Chard. The successful candidate will be working across 3 different production lines: casting, core making, melting and finishing materials. This working environment is hot, can become dirty and requires heavy lifting.
General Duties:- Prepare molds and core boxes for the sand-casting process.
- Assemble, disassemble, and control mold patterns.
- Operate furnaces and pour molten metal into molds with precision.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain and repair casting equipment and fixtures as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and deadlines.
- Ability to operate and control melting furnaces safely.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a foundry environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills for working effectively within a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in hot and physically demanding conditions.
Weekly pay for first 12 weeks. Time and a half paid on Fridays. Training and progression opportunities provided.
