Salary Guide: c£30,000 PA, Depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm or Permanent option

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07.30 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 07.30 am to 2.00 pm – 38 hours per week

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabricator / Welder to join this well-established structural steel manufacturing company located in Haverhill.

The role is to fabricate, weld, and manufacture parts to a drawing, ensuring all aspects of the specifications on the drawing are met and the quality of their work is to the level as per company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding: Perform welding tasks, ensuring the integrity and strength of welded joints in accordance with industry standards.
  • Structural Fabrication: Interpret and work from engineering drawings to fabricate structural steel components.
  • Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
  • Work with fitters or fitters/welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications. Referencing drawing weld specs and weld Plans and standards as issued by the RWC as per EN 1090.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job\’s needs.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment.
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.
  • Ideally coded, tested to ISO EN 96061 as per Std EN 1090.
  • Ensuring all products made are identified in line with EN1090.

Skills / Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator, with a focus on Structural Steel, Mezzanine Floors, Racking, staircases etc.
  • MIG Welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

Relevant vocational or trade qualification in welding or metal fabrication.
