Job Description

Welder / Fabricator

  • Permanent position
  • Location: Harwich, Essex (CO12)
  • Rate Guide: £16.00-£19.00 per hour (DOE)
  • Overtime: paid at time and one-third, good hours available
  • Monday to Friday, 0715 to 1600 hours - 40 hours per week
  • Core requirement: MIG & TIG Welding + Fabrication
  • Any structural steel experience beneficial

Join a busy, local, established engineering workshop producing high-quality fabricated steelwork and welded assemblies. You'll be working on a range of fabrication jobs, from prep through to final finish, following engineering drawings and specs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG and MIG welding to manufacture components.
  • Fabrication from drawings (cut, prep, tack, weld, dress/finish)
  • Work from detailed engineering drawings to meet project specifications.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship in the fabrication of sheet metal components.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards in the workplace.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Proven expertise in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Any welding certifications (coding) would be an advantage but not essential.
