Are you looking for the start of a career in project management? My client is seeking a motivated PMO / Project Support professional to join their office in Somerton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with bags of energy who wants to grow from project support into Project Manager and potentially Senior Project Manager over time.

My client designs, delivers and supports high‑quality data cabling and IT infrastructure projects for Higher Education clients across the UK. From structured cabling and fibre installations to complete network rollouts, they pride themselves on well-planned, well‑delivered projects – and you’ll be at the heart of making that happen. Training courses are provided to support your ongoing development and help you build a solid project management skill set.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project coordination: Support the delivery of structured cabling and networking projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling and documentation.
  • PMO support: Maintain project templates, track progress and help standardise reporting.
  • Communication hub: Act as the link between engineers, sales, procurement and management, keeping everyone aligned.
  • Documentation & reporting: Prepare project reports and commissioning packs; ensure quotes, handovers, drawings and as‑builts are accurate and complete.
  • Resource coordination: Assist with engineer scheduling, stock checks and logistics.
  • Data & financial tracking: Input project data, monitor costs and support financial analysis.
  • Continuous improvement: Capture lessons learned and help refine processes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in project support, coordination or PMO work – project‑based experience helpful, especially in networking, IT, network cabling or construction environments. This is not essential but desirable.
  • Highly organised, detail‑focused and confident managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with engineers and clients.
  • Good MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with tools like MS Project is an advantage.
  • Understanding of data cabling or networking projects and knowledge of PRINCE2 or similar methodologies is useful but not essential.

If you’re ambitious, eager to learn and ready to build a long‑term career in project management, my client would love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and a short cover note explaining your relevant project experience.
