My Client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Setter/Programmer/Operator to work with a wide range of components in a well-established foundry environment.

Key Details

  • Working hours: Monday - Thursday, 06:45 - 17:00 (overtime opportunities available) - 4 day week
  • Location: Chard
  • Salary: £15.00 - £19.00 per hour DOE
  • Job type: Full-time, permanent
  • Reports to: Foundry Operations Manager

About My Client

My Client is a long-established foundry supplying ferrous and non-ferrous castings to sectors including power generation, engine components, oil & gas, marine, pumps and compressors, construction, rail, agriculture and architecture.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC milling and turning centres with G-code and Fanuc controls
  • Set and operate machining centres up to 4-axis with G-code controls
  • Programme new work and set existing programmes for small volume batch runs
  • Select and set up tooling for a range of components (1kg to 750kg) in grey and nodular irons and aluminium
  • Work accurately from customer machining drawings and 3D models
  • Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures from scratch
  • Ensure adherence to all health & safety and safe working practices
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area and contribute to continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a CNC Turner/Miller in a similar environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing techniques
  • Confident checking component dimensions using a range of inspection equipment
  • Ability to produce components to drawing tolerances and specifications
  • Good organisational skills, problem-solving ability and efficiency
