Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

HRGO Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced QHSE Manager (Quality Bias) on behalf of our FMCG Manufacturing Industry client based near the Forest of Dean. This role would ideally suit anyone who came from a Food/Beverage manufacturing background.

Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, the successful candidate will be a key part of the Site Leadership Team, leading a small team across Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company's QHSE & compliance requirements, implementing policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ISO, BRC, and internal audits, along with workplace inspections to identify and address non-conformances.
  • Liaising closely with the Plant Manager and major customer to identify, rectify and communicate quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality expectations and that products are manufactured safely and efficiently.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, conducting root cause analysis and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage Risk Assessments and COSHH Risk Assessments, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Assist with compliance obligations under Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007.
  • Oversee contractor management, including Permit to Work processes, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
  • Provide toolbox talks and use QHSE tools (Plan-Do-Check-Act, 6S, Root Cause Analysis) to drive continuous improvements.
  • Promote and oversee a Safety-First culture across production operations, including Behavioural Safety Improvements.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience & Qualifications
  • Training in Accident/Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety standards.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Solid understanding of H&S and Environmental legislation.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge (desirable).
  • Experience in the FMCG Industry.
