Mechanical Assembler (Electro-Mechanical)
- Location: Chelmsford, Essex
- Salary Guide: £28,000-£33,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Overtime Rate
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- Focus: Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, crimping and soldering
The role
HRGO Recruitment is recruiting for a Mechanical Assembler to join an established UK engineering manufacturer. This is a workshop-based position building electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, working to drawings and detailed work instructions to produce high-quality engineered equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Build electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies to specification
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
- Carry out wiring tasks including cable routing, termination and loom work
- Perform crimping and soldering of connections to the required standard
- Read and follow engineering drawings, build instructions and checklists
- Complete basic quality checks, report faults, and support rework where required
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow health & safety procedures at all times
Required skills & experience
- Proven experience in electro-mechanical / electromechanical assembly (manufacturing environment)
- Confident with hand tools and power tools
- Practical wiring experience including crimping and soldering
- Able to follow drawings/work instructions with strong attention to detail
