Mechanical Assembler (Electro-Mechanical)

  • Location: Chelmsford, Essex
  • Salary Guide: £28,000-£33,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Overtime Rate
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
  • Focus: Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, crimping and soldering

The role

HRGO Recruitment is recruiting for a Mechanical Assembler to join an established UK engineering manufacturer. This is a workshop-based position building electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, working to drawings and detailed work instructions to produce high-quality engineered equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies to specification
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
  • Carry out wiring tasks including cable routing, termination and loom work
  • Perform crimping and soldering of connections to the required standard
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, build instructions and checklists
  • Complete basic quality checks, report faults, and support rework where required
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow health & safety procedures at all times

Required skills & experience

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical / electromechanical assembly (manufacturing environment)
  • Confident with hand tools and power tools
  • Practical wiring experience including crimping and soldering
  • Able to follow drawings/work instructions with strong attention to detail
