This role is a Production Operative position to join a long-established and respected manufacturing business based just outside Carlisle. It is a day shift role in a highly people-focused organisation that invests in its workforce through excellent training, support and development. The emphasis is on establishing a long-term, committed presence with opportunities for progression and development.
The Role
Reporting to the Production First Line Manager, you will operate machinery to produce high-quality products in a safe and efficient manner. You will work closely with fellow production operators and the maintenance team to ensure high standards across safety, quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety
- Attend team briefings and toolbox talks to stay informed and compliant
- Work safely at all times, adhering to site safety procedures, SOPs and risk assessments
- Support maintenance teams with TPM and PPM activities where required
- Quality
- Accurately complete all required administration, including SAP entries
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in your work area
- Work collaboratively with colleagues on matters affecting production and quality
- Cost & Efficiency
- Follow production plans and working lists to support OEE targets
- Maintain high standards of product quality while minimising waste
- Use initiative to resolve issues, escalating where appropriate
- Delivery
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently in line with training
- Report equipment faults promptly
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- People & Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and managers
- Undertake training as required to operate additional equipment
- Support and guide colleagues where appropriate
What Weβre Looking For
- Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic IT skills and understanding of internal systems (SAP desirable)
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Strong awareness of health & safety requirements
