Working a 4-day week - Monday to Thursday

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner who can program using FANUC controls and confidently set and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality components to drawing and tight tolerances.

The role

You will take ownership of jobs from programme creation and prove‑out through to production, inspection, and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality standards and efficient lead times. The work will primarily involve small batch production, including one‑offs and two‑offs etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Program CNC lathes using FANUC controls (at the machine).
  • Set, operate and adjust CNC turning centres.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerance requirements.
  • Carry out first‑off, in‑process and final inspection using measuring equipment.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues (surface finish, tool wear, accuracy, cycle times).
  • Maintain production documentation and follow quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain excellent housekeeping/5S.

Essential skills & experience

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner with FANUC programming (essential).
  • Strong setting/operating capability on CNC lathes (essential).
  • Confident working to tight tolerances; methodical approach to quality.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking a job through from start to finish.

Hours: 07:00-17:15, Monday to Thursday (4 days / 39 hours/week)

Overtime: time and a half, when available

Salary guide: £39,000-£42,000 per annum (DOE)
