Established engineering company based in Bishops Stortford is seeking a Production Operative with assembly experience gained from working within an engineering/manufacturing environment. This role in the Production Department is a varied role involving assembly tasks, operational processes like media blasting and bonding, and replenishing kits for assembly lines.
Duties:
- Assembly of machine accessories such as baskets, hose connectors and trollies
- Making sub-assemblies and spare parts including electrical and mechanical products
- Preparation and media blasting a variety of tanks under controlled conditions
- Clean and prep of tanks, application of transducers prior to oven curing, dismantling jigs to dispatch product to assembly lines, maintenance of machines and general housekeeping of blasting and bonding areas
- Manufacture of finished goods and sub-assemblies for production lines
- Stock management and kit out assistance when required
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of hand tools and experience in their use for electrical and mechanical assembly/production
- Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions
- Ability to maintain records, adhere to quality and regulatory processes
- Previous grit blasting/powder coating/similar finishing work experience is advantageous
