Highly skilled and experienced Toolmakers are required for the high spec finishing of complex machined parts typically Plastic Injection mould tooling. Are you a master toolmaker who takes pride in producing parts to exacting standards? We are looking for exceptional Toolmakers to join this expanding team, working on high-precision tooling for plastic injection moulding and lost wax (investment casting). This is a hands-on role for someone with outstanding finishing skills and a real eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Finish the Manufacturing of new tools, dies, moulds and fixtures for plastic injection and lost wax casting
  • Assemble, fit and align tooling components to very tight tolerances
  • Work confidently from detailed engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications
  • Select appropriate materials and machining processes for each tool
  • Hand-finish tools using polishing, stoning, lapping and grinding to achieve demanding surface finishes
  • Deburr, blend and refine surfaces to meet functional and cosmetic standards
  • Inspect finished tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality
  • Diagnose tooling issues, carry out repairs and modifications, and perform preventative maintenance
  • Support production during tool trials, sampling and first-off runs, working closely with engineering and quality

About you

  • Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Toolmaking / Tool & Die / Precision Engineering
  • Proven experience in:
  • Plastic injection mould tooling
  • Lost wax (investment casting) tooling
  • High-level tool finishing and polishing
  • Strong precision machining skills: milling, turning, grinding and fitting
  • Excellent hand skills, attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Able to read and interpret complex technical drawings and tolerances
  • Committed to health, safety, quality and maintaining a clean, organised work area
