Highly skilled and experienced Toolmakers are required for the high spec finishing of complex machined parts typically Plastic Injection mould tooling. Are you a master toolmaker who takes pride in producing parts to exacting standards? We are looking for exceptional Toolmakers to join this expanding team, working on high-precision tooling for plastic injection moulding and lost wax (investment casting). This is a hands-on role for someone with outstanding finishing skills and a real eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Finish the Manufacturing of new tools, dies, moulds and fixtures for plastic injection and lost wax casting
- Assemble, fit and align tooling components to very tight tolerances
- Work confidently from detailed engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications
- Select appropriate materials and machining processes for each tool
- Hand-finish tools using polishing, stoning, lapping and grinding to achieve demanding surface finishes
- Deburr, blend and refine surfaces to meet functional and cosmetic standards
- Inspect finished tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality
- Diagnose tooling issues, carry out repairs and modifications, and perform preventative maintenance
- Support production during tool trials, sampling and first-off runs, working closely with engineering and quality
About you
- Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Toolmaking / Tool & Die / Precision Engineering
- Proven experience in:
- Plastic injection mould tooling
- Lost wax (investment casting) tooling
- High-level tool finishing and polishing
