We are supporting our Client who provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are seeking a Stores & Logistics Lead to join our team in Basildon. You will support and nurture the Stores and Logistics department by ensuring accurate stock control of all goods entering and leaving the stores. Efficiently managing goods and product storage areas to meet operational and customer demands, and assisting with the receiving, storage, kitting, and dispatch of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the stores and logistics operations for the Basildon stores area.
- Receive deliveries, checking parts received match the paperwork supplied in terms of quantity, revision, condition, and that all necessary certification is compliant.
- Ensuring stock is rotated correctly following FIFO principles.
- Launch materials into manufacturing as dictated by job cards, ensuring correct revisions, condition, and transaction integrity is maintained.
- Despatch parts and materials to sub-contractors, ensuring all paperwork to support the delivery is included, whilst maintaining stock accuracy and integrity.
- The despatch of Finished Goods to customers, ensuring all paperwork is present and correct, and that the correct method of carriage is selected.
- Ensure all materials leaving the site are packaged correctly to reduce the risk of transit damage.
- Ensure all parts and materials are accurately stocked in appropriate locations to minimise the risk of damage and loss.
- Ensure the inventory accuracy is maintained properly on the relevant WMS.
- Manage and control non-BOM items within minimum and maximum stock levels, KANBANs, etc.
- Be aware of use by and expiry dates, EOL programs, and E&O risk.
- Work closely with Purchasing department to resolve receipt issues.
- Perform weekly cycle counts and support year end full Inventory count requirements.
- Load / offload goods as required.
- Any other duties as required.
Skills & Behaviours
- Working, recent, knowledge of WMS principles and able to lead a small team.
- Able to build relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers, and other Stores / Logistic team members.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Skills & Experience
- Experienced in leading a small operational team.
- Experience of accurately handling materials and parts.
- Experience of stock control systems, goods in, and the picking and issuing to work orders.
- Counterbalance forklift license.
- Driving licence (Manual).
