This role is full-time, permanent and offers a salary of up to £35,000 DOE. The position is Monday to Friday, with the potential for hybrid working. Driving is essential due to the rural location near Brabourne, Ashford.
We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a well-established manufacturing company on the outskirts of Ashford. The successful candidate will plan and coordinate deliveries, manage driver hours, and ensure full compliance with transport regulations.
Key responsibilities:- Plan daily and weekly delivery schedules to optimise vehicle utilisation and use the most efficient routes.
- Allocate work to drivers and manage rotas, ensuring legal drivers' hours and rest breaks are adhered to.
- Monitor compliance with driving licence and vehicle documentation requirements.
- React to operational issues (delays, vehicle breakdowns, traffic) and re-route as required.
- Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on performance and compliance.
- Liaise with various teams throughout the company.
- Previous transport planning experience with demonstrable experience planning deliveries.
- Experience managing drivers' hours and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Driving is essential due to the location of the role; you must hold a full UK driving licence.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including experience with route-planning/TMS software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
