HRGO are pleased to support one of our Ashford based clients in their search for a Mechanical Fitter. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business that has a fantastic reputation for what they do.

Duties:

  • Build and prepare filling and capping machines from a mix of finished and semi-finished parts.
  • Carry out precision mechanical fitting tasks, including marking out, cutting, drilling, tapping and final finishing, working mainly with stainless steel and other engineering materials.
  • Assemble and commission pneumatic systems on the machinery, including functional testing and fault diagnosis.
  • Run thorough tests on completed machines to ensure they meet internal performance, safety and quality standards.
  • Provide mechanical support to service engineers and end customers, both on-site and via remote assistance when required.

Experience required:

  • Proven background in mechanical fitting within a machinery manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong practical hand skills with a meticulous approach to accuracy, finish and overall build quality.
  • Confident in reading and working from assembly drawings, schematics and written build instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic control systems, including assembly, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Previous work with industrial machinery, ideally within food, pharmaceutical or other high-volume production settings.
  • Some exposure to electrical control systems is an advantage, but not a strict requirement.
