ROLE PURPOSE:
This role is central to ensuring seamless supply chain operations through efficient and proactive coordination of procurement and logistics activities. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to support the organisations supply chain performance and contribute to achieving company-wide goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the ordering of components and products to meet delivery and performance KPIs, ensuring customer deadlines and financial targets are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, providing accurate forecasts, visibility of orders, and clear communication.
- Support cost-saving initiatives aligned with business targets and raw material objectives.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards of supplied components, logging discrepancies in line with internal quality procedures.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations to anticipate demand and flag potential supply constraints.
- Manage the supply chain inbox, resolving queries and working to reduce incoming volume.
- Organise and track imports from international suppliers, ensuring compliance with UK/EU regulations.
- Enhance logistics networks to ensure timely delivery of key components.
- Conduct availability checks for customer projects and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up with suppliers on overdue orders to mitigate risks to delivery performance.
- Track and contribute to internal supply chain KPIs as defined by senior management.
- Work with Finance to resolve supplier invoice issues.
- Assist in quarterly reviews with key suppliers.
- Source and onboard new suppliers in alignment with sustainability and quality objectives.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with ERP systems is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- GCSE-level Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Prior experience in purchasing or supply chain roles is advantageous.
- Basic statistical analysis skills.
