Full job description Skilled CNC Machinist – Turning & Milling Pay: Up to £25.00 per hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with an early Friday finish Flexibility: Flexible working arrangements available, including school-run commitments Location: To be confirmed About the Role Hunt 4 Employment is recruiting an experienced and versatile CNC Machinist to join a small, hands-on engineering workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys variety, takes pride in their craftsmanship and is comfortable getting involved in different aspects of engineering and manufacturing. Unlike roles in larger production environments, this position offers the opportunity to work across the full manufacturing process, from CNC programming, setting and machining through to assembly and other workshop activities.
Key Responsibilities
Programming, setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines. Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications. Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting speeds and machining methods. Carrying out dimensional and quality checks on finished components. Troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments. Supporting general workshop operations, including mechanical assembly and welding where required. Working independently and taking responsibility for jobs from initial setup through to completion. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in CNC turning and/or milling, ideally both. Strong CNC setting and operating skills. CNC programming experience, with the ability to create or modify programs. Confidence working from technical engineering drawings. Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and measurements. A flexible, practical approach to engineering, with a willingness to assist with welding, assembly and other workshop tasks. Ability to work independently within a small engineering team.
We're particularly interested in multi-skilled machinists who are comfortable doing more than simply running a CNC machine. What's on Offer Competitive hourly pay of up to £25.00 , depending on skills and experience. Day shifts only, with no rotating shifts. Early finish on Fridays. Flexible working arrangements, including consideration for school runs and family commitments.
