Purpose of role: To maintain, repair installations and optimize customer fluid power equipment in an effective and efficient manner, visiting customers' sites as required and adhering to all health and safety rules.
Scope: Work directly on customers' sites, providing hands-on support for fluid power systems, undertaking maintenance, repairs, overhauls and troubleshooting issues, ensuring prompt resolution. You will also undertake installations of fluid power systems, including Pipework, hydraulic systems, hydraulic power units, and cylinders, adhering to industry standards and customer specifications. The role will require you to travel as required, responding to service calls and providing on-site assistance to customers in various locations. You must ensure strict adherence to all relevant Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) procedures, as well as health and safety requirements, to maintain a secure working environment at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- System Inspection and Assessment: Conducting regular on-site inspections of hydraulic systems. Assessing the condition, performance, and efficiency of fluid power components.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Performing preventive maintenance on fluid power systems to ensure reliability. Executing timely repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing issues within fluid power systems. Implementing effective troubleshooting strategies to resolve operational problems.
- Optimization and Upgrades: Recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance. Collaborating with engineering teams to execute upgrades and modernization projects.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of system maintenance activities and repairs. Creating detailed reports on the condition and performance of fluid power systems.
- Training and Support: Providing on-site training to facility personnel on basic fluid power system operations. Offering technical support and guidance to maintenance teams as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that fluid power systems adhere to relevant safety and environmental regulations. Implementing changes to comply with any updated industry standards.

Person Specification:
- Essential:
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in maintaining, repairing, and installing fluid power systems, including hydraulic components.
- On-Site Experience: Proven ability to work efficiently on customer sites, addressing fluid power issues, and providing effective solutions.
- Installation Skills: Experience in undertaking installations of various fluid power systems, following industry best practices.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed, with flexibility to respond to service calls promptly.
- Safety Focus: Strong commitment to adhering to RAMS and health and safety requirements, ensuring a secure working environment for both yourself and others.

- Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
- NFPC (or equivalent) Stage 1 and or Stage 2 Industrial and Mobile Hydraulics

- Foundation Courses in Fluid Power Disciplines
- Health & Safety (Nebosh) training in RAMS
