Engineering Team Leader in Gloucester

We are seeking an experienced and proactiveEngineering Shift Team Leaderto support day-to-day engineering operations at our Tewkesbury site. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide and support a team of Engineers, ensuring the smooth running of production and distribution activities across a fast-paced environment.

Location:Tewkesbury
Salary:£20.51£21.51 per hour DOE, plus overtime at 1.25 hourly rate above 40 hours
Hours:40 per week
Shift Pattern:

• Week 1:MondayFriday, 06:0013:45, plus Saturday (06:00finish)
• Week 2:MondayFriday, 13:3521:45

About You Skills & Experience

• Electrical-based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification essential
• Experience working with high-speed machinery in FMCG or a similar production environment essential
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills essential
• Proven experience with automated machinery essential
• Previous supervisory or people-management experience essential
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
• Flexible approach to shift patterns and deadlines, consistently delivering high-quality work

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Manager in achieving departmental objectives
• Lead, supervise, and mentor Engineers, ensuring effective use of team skills
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver preventative maintenance schedules
• Diagnose, repair, and test electrical and mechanical equipment
• Lead fault-finding and resolution on high-speed automated machinery
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance paperwork
• Provide guidance and support to Apprentices where required
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager and provide cover for Engineers when needed
• Participate in the engineering call-out rota for equipment breakdowns
