A growing Gloucester based company is looking for a detail driven Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone who is AAT qualified or currently working towards AAT Level 3 and eager to continue developing their skills in a supportive environment. You will play an essential part in keeping the financial heartbeat of the business steady and precise.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assist with maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciliations
- Process invoices and support purchase and sales ledger activity
- Prepare financial reports as required by the Finance Manager
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
- Assist with year end processes and audit preparation
- Provide general financial administration and ad hoc support across the team
What We’re Looking For
- AAT qualified or actively studying towards AAT Level 3
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive approach
- Previous experience in a similar finance role is desirable
