We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee a commercial refurbishment and restoration project within a heritage listed building. This is a contract position requiring a highly motivated individual who can take ownership of site operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on Site Manager who is comfortable leading from the front, coordinating trades, solving problems on site, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Day-to-day management of site activities and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and supervise all construction works in line with project programmes.
- Ensure compliance with heritage conservation requirements and project specifications.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress meetings.
- Monitor quality control and ensure workmanship meets required standards.
- Manage site logistics, deliveries, and material coordination.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, conservation officers, and project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to minimise programme delays.
- Assist with hands-on site activities where required to keep works progressing.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction projects.
- Previous experience working on heritage, listed, or conservation-sensitive buildings is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of refurbishment, restoration, and fit-out works.
- SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
