We are working with a well-established and growing business looking to bring in a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support both site facilities and production equipment. The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining site facilities and production equipment, ensuring everything is running safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements. A big part of the role is coordinating external contractors for servicing and inspections, alongside getting stuck in with day-to-day maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate servicing, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Manage and liaise with external contractors on site
- Review RAMS and issue permits to work
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
- Support both reactive and planned maintenance across site
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and plumbing issues
- Assist with basic electrical fault finding and safe isolation
- Identify improvements to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Monitor contractor performance and service standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role
- Strong mechanical skills and hands-on approach
- Good working knowledge of plumbing systems
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Experience working with or managing contractors
- Good understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload
- Confident reading technical manuals and documentation
Nice to Have
- Engineering qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds or similar)
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Knowledge of compliance areas (pressure systems, HVAC, water hygiene)
- IOSH or similar
